SENIOR RESEARCH SCIENTIST:
Non-permanent Position (6 months from Nov. 2007 to Apr. 2008)

Responsibilities:
This position is regarding a research project “ Identification of specific outer membrane proteins of H. Pylori, and their application in the lateral flow immunoassay test kit for the diagnosis of H. Pylori infection. Responsibility of this position includes but not limits to the following:
* Design and finalize a research protocol for this project
*Train Artron’s research team on advanced technologies regarding the rapid and accurate diagnosis of H. Pylori.
* Coordinate with the research group in ChongQing University of Medical Sciences (China) to design the sub-projects and the clinical trials, which will be conducted in the ChongQing University of Medical Sciences.

Qualifications:
* Ph.D. in Medicine/Molecular Biology;
* 5 year direct research experiences regarding the recombination of outer-Membrane proteins of H.Pylori, and the identification of target protein of outer-membrane of H.Pylori for the lateral flow immunoassay;
* Direct experience and extensive knowledge on the clinical diagnosis of H. Pylori infection;
* Fluent in Chinese

SCIENTIST, ASSAY DEVELOPMENT

Main duties of Job:

Leading a research team contains 3-5 scientist/assistants. ·

Design and conduct research in the following areas, which include (but are not limited to):

(1) the expression of recombinant Dengue antigen and CP4 EPSPS antigen;

(2) the investigation of the renaturation conditions to recover the original antigenicity of recombinant antigens;

3) the selection of the best matched pair of monoclonal antibodies of CP4 EPSPS and Dengue, as well as to study their affinity, specificity, and cross reactivity,

(4) the identification of the best condition to coat selected antibodies onto NC membrane, and to conjugate antibodies or recombinant antigens to gold-colloidal or florescent dye, etc..

·Design specific projects and new protocols to solve problems appeared in the R&D stage of the various projects.

Design and conduct filed trail evaluation of the new product developed

Involved in the management of the project and periodically report the process.· Train employees and transfer skills/technique.· Analyze data and prepare project reports.

Requirements:

·Bachelor of Medicine (B.M) plus Ph.D in molecular biology or related area. (M.S in molecular biology plus 3 years’ reseach experience, or Ph.D candidate are acceptable)

· Excellent skills in Gene cloning and expression, primer design, design and label of nucleic acid probes, DNA recombination, RT-PCR, flow cytometry, Eukaryotic Cell Transfection and Expression, primary cell culture, hybridoma technique, ELISA, immuno-fluorescence techniques, Western-blot, protein purification, co-immunoprecipitation, and protein mass spectrometry, etc

· Minimum 3 years bench work experience in the cloning, expression, and purification of recombinant proteins;

· Direct experience in the following areas is highly preferred

· Renaturation work for recombinant CP4 EPSPS and Dengue surface antigen;

· Experience in the development of monoclonal antibodies against infectious diseases (Vibrio cholerae, SARS, dengue virus etc) ;

· Experience in the selection of a best matched pair of monoclonal antibodies for the application in the immuno-assay;

· Experience in the study of affinity, specificity, and cross reactivity of monoclonal antibodies,

· Experience in the development of lateral flow Immunochromatographic assay for the qualitative detection of antibody or antigen.

· Experience of the revealing of the best conditions to coat antibodies onto NC membrane, and to conjugate antibodies to gold-colloidal or florescent dye, etc.
